Valentino Rossi of the Movistar YAMAHA MotoGP team places first at the 7th round of the 2016 MotoGP
On June 5, 2016, Valentino Rossi, who races for the EXEDY-sponsored Movistar YAMAHA MotoGP team, placed first at the 7th round of the 2016 MotoGP, which was held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. This victory was Rossi’s second for the season.

Starting the race at fifth on the grid and situated in the second column of riders, Rossi fell into eighth place during the hectic scene at the circuit’s first corner. He soon turned this around however, making his way into third by the end of the first lap and finding his way into first place during the seventh. Although dogged by riders vying for his spot for the remainder of the race, he was able to take back his lead during the last two laps and ultimately passed the finish line in first.

His teammate, Jorge Lorenzo, withdrew from the race after another rider collided into his motorcycle.
